Workshops are specifically directed toward the understanding and acquisition of computer skills and methodologies. Workshops will be open to limited audiences beginning Sunday morning, and will offer hands-on training through Wednesday morning. Workshops have limited attendance and require an additional pre-registration fee. See on-line registration form for a full description of these workshops. Computer Lab: There are many powerful computer-based tools now available to support the work of family medicine faculty, yet many faculty remain unaware of the existence of these tools, or are uncomfortable with their use. The Computer Lab will provide formal and informal venues for the presentation, discussion, and demonstration of computer-based tools of value to faculty in family medicine. Participants will improve their knowledge and skills related to these tools via self-guided tutorials and interaction with knowledgeable peers and faculty. Lab Hours: 7 am-6 pm, Saturday – Tuesday. Business Session: The STFM Annual Business Meeting will be held on Monday, September 22. The Business Meeting offers members the opportunity to learn about key Society activities and address issues of concern to the STFM Board of Directors. STFM members not attending the conference can attend the Business Session without registering for the conference. Election Procedures: The nominees for STFM office will be announced and nominations from the floor accepted during the luncheon on Sunday, September 21. Candidate speeches will also be given during the luncheon. Ballots will be included with the registration packets of members qualified to vote. Ballots must be turned in at the registration desk by 5:30 pm on Sunday, September 21. A majority vote, taken from votes cast at the meeting and from absentee ballots, will determine the election. Results will be announced at the Business Meeting on Monday, September 22. Registration Confirmation: Registrants will receive confirmation of their STFM conference registration within two weeks after the registration form is received in the STFM office. If confirmation has not been received within this period, please contact STFM at assndfm@stfm.org. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the AAFP and STFM. The AAFP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing education for physicians. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
