Return to Annual Conference Home Page One-on-One Mentoring Program The One-on-One Mentoring Program provides fellows and junior faculty members an opportunity to meet with a more senior faculty member and discuss issues related to career development. Topics for discussion might include advice about clinical, educational, investigative, or administrative career paths and/or discussion of work in progress. For a junior faculty member, the One-on-One Mentoring program facilitates development of a relationship with a more senior role model outside of the mentee’s institution. This year several leaders in the STFM have volunteered to be mentors. This is a great opportunity for fellows or junior faculty to meet with more senior members of our society from other academic centers in a casual setting. The One-on-One mentoring session is planned for Sunday September 21 from 7 - 8:15 am (during the common interest breakfasts). However, mentors and mentees are free to meet at other mutually agreeable times during the meeting. A list of mentors with their academic interests is provided below. Other mentors are also available. Please feel free to request a mentor not on this list and we will attempt to arrange a meeting with them. Fellows and junior faculty interested in participating should send the attached sign-up form by fax to Linda Meurer, MD, MPH c/o Veronica Ruleford at 414-456-6523 or by e-mail to vrulefor@mcw.edu by September 1, 2003. Please send a copy of your updated CV with the application. You will be notified prior to the meeting as to which mentor has been assigned to you. Enrollment is limited to 30 mentor/ mentee pairs, so apply now! One-on-one mentoring application form (pdf format) Interested in becoming a mentor? Please contact Linda Meurer at: lmeurer@mcw.edu |
