Conference Accommodations: New Orleans Marriott Conference Rates: $198 single/double |

Room Reservations:
Please make your reservations directly with the New Orleans Marriott by calling 888-364-1200. Be sure to request the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine group rate when making your reservations. The reservations deadline for the conference is April 1. Note, if conference attendance exceeds expectations, rooms in the conference block may be sold out prior to this date. Therefore, please make your reservations as soon as possible to ensure your preferred accommodations. After April 1, rooms will be on a space- and rate-available basis. Final reminder, please request a confirmation number when making your reservations, and in the unlikely event that you have to cancel your reservations, please ask for a "cancellation confirmation."
NOTE: The 2005 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is the same
weekend
as the STFM Annual Spring Conference (April 22-May 1). Since
hotel rooms will be at a premium over these dates, we encourage you to
make your hotel reservations in the STFM room block as soon as possible
to ensure your accommodations.

Airfare:
Airfare Discount If you would like assistance in making your airline reservations for the conference, call Short’s Travel (STFM Travel Desk) at 800-417-2902. Office hours are 9 am – 5 pm (central time) Monday through Friday.
Rental Car:
Budget Rent A Car System, Inc, has been selected as the official rental car agency for this year’s conference. For reservations, please call Budget at 800-772-3773, or you can make your reservations on-line at www.budget.com. Be sure to use the following convention discount code for our conference when making your reservation: U063655. Rates for the conference begin at $37.99 daily/$153.99 weekly, with special “weekend rates” available beginning at $23.99 per day! Rates include unlimited mileage and are valid for up to one week before/after the conference.
Child Care:
Child Care For scheduling information and fees, contact the New Orleans Marriott concierge by calling 504-581-1000. Rates vary based on the number and ages of children needing care, and advance reservations are required.
Shuttle Service/Ground Transportation:
Shuttle service to and from New Orleans International Airport costs $12 each way. Pickup is immediately outside baggage claim. Contact either airportshuttle.com or call 504-522-3500. Taxi service to and from the airport costs $28 each way for one to two people and $8 for each additional person.
CME Hours:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the AAFP and the STFM. The AAFP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor education for physicians. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. STFM will post CME information as soon as it is available on its Web site, www.stfm.org. For other credit, STFM will assist individuals by providing information needed to the extent possible.
Committee, Task Force, and Group Meetings:
A schedule of all meetings will be included in the Program, to be distributed at the annual meeting. The meetings are open to all individuals who would like to get involved in specific issues.
Election Procedures:
The nominees for STFM office will be announced and nominations from the floor accepted during the luncheon on Sunday, May 1. Candidate speeches will also be given during the luncheon. Ballots will be included with the registration packets of members qualified to vote. Ballots must be turned in at the registration desk by 5:30 pm on Sunday, May 1. A majority vote, taken from votes cast at the meeting and from absentee ballots, will determine the election. Results will be announced at the Business Meeting on Monday morning, May 2.
