Electronic Classroom

STFM is excited to offer these task-oriented, educational and experiential computer workshops for a second successful year! Workshops are specifically directed toward the understanding and acquisition of computer skills and methodologies. The workshops will be open to limited audiences beginning Sunday morning and will offer hands-on training through Tuesday afternoon. Workshops require an additional preregistration fee.

Computer Lab

There are many powerful computer-based tools now available to support the work of family medicine faculty, yet many faculty remain unaware of the existence of these tools or are uncomfortable with their use. The Computer Lab will provide formal and informal venues for the presentation, discussion, and demonstration of computer-based tools of value to faculty in family medicine. Participants will improve their knowledge and skills related to these tools via self-guided tutorials and interaction with knowledgeable peers. STFM would like to extend special thanks to Nancy Clark, MEd, and Jacob Reider, MD, for their assistance in coordinating the 2001 Computer Lab.

Electronic Poster Session

STFM will provide an opportunity for one-on-one discussion and demonstration of member-authored computer software, audio-video modules, and other electronic media. All demonstration materials have been reviewed by members of the STFM Program Committee and STFM Group on Computing. These posters will be displayed in the exhibit area.

Business Session

The STFM Annual Business Meeting will be held on Monday, April 30, immediately preceding the Blanchard Memorial Lecture. The Business Meeting offers members the opportunity to learn about key Society activities and address issues of concern to the STFM Board of Directors. STFM members not attending the conference can attend the Business Session without registering for the conference.

Election Procedures

The nominees for STFM office will be announced and nominations from the floor accepted during the luncheon on Sunday, April 29. Candidate speeches will also be given during the luncheon. Ballots will be included with the registration packets of members qualified to vote. Ballots must be turned in at the registration desk by 5:30 pm on Sunday, April 29. A majority vote, taken from votes cast at the meeting and from absentee ballots, will determine the election. Results will be announced at the STFM Annual Business Meeting on Monday, April 30.
