A Faculty Development Workshop: Teaching the "Family" in Family Medicine: Honoring Contemporary Approaches and Creating Future Strategies
Dael Waxman, MD, Nancy Newman, MD

This workshop invites educators of all experience levels to explore ways of strengthening their current and future teaching of family. Through reflection and small-group exercises, participants will become more conscious of and celebrate the effectiveness of their current efforts in helping learners think contextually. Having acknowledged the work already being done, the workshop will continue with a focus on future trends in family medicine. Using the Future of Family Medicine Project as a springboard for constructing a potential direction for the family in family medicine, workshop participants will co-create simple and realistic strategies to aid in teaching this emerging model. Participants will leave the preconference session with an action plan to help shape the remainder of their conference experience as well as to bring back into their home settings.
Registration Fee: $50
