Advertisers may also take advantage of another opportunity to reach STFM members through the Society newletter, the STFM Messenger. Published six times a year (February, April, June, August, October, and December), this newsletter reaches the same basic audience as Family Medicine.
The STFM Messenger provides readers with a bimonthly update of STFM activities, including legislative issues, educational trends, grant information, meetings and conferences, professional opportunities, and other news of interest to family medicine education.
Like Family Medicine, the Messenger puts you in contact with family physicians from around the country, including university department and residency program faculty, practicing family physicians, residents, researchers, and others involved in family medicine education.
The Messenger receives additional distribution at all STFM meetings and conference exhibit displays.

The Messenger's circulation of 5,500 breaks down as follows:

  • 80%-STFM members, mostly family physicians who both see patients and teach students and residents
  • 15%-STFM non-physician members who work in academic family medicine, eg, sociologists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, educators, medical students
  • 5%-Complimentary subscriptions

Messenger advertising is sold on a single-sponsor basis for each issue. Sponsorship is $5,000 per issue. If you sponsor all six issues in a year, your total cost is $25,000, a $5,000 savings off the individual issue rate.

Sponsors may run one full-page, 4C ad and one full-page B&W ad per issue. Or advertisers may run a two-page, two-sided insert per issue.

Advertisers will also receive credit on the front page of the Messenger stating, "Thanks to XYZ, Inc. for its sponsorship of this issue of the Messenger."

Advertising Deadlines:
Insertion orders are due the first day of the month prior to the issue date, ie, January 1 for the February issue.
