STFM Innovative Program Award
STFM announces its call for nominations for the
2008 STFM Innovative Program Award. This award is offered to
honor excellence in the development of an original educational
program or activity for family practice
residents, students, or faculty. The award is intended to recognize
a broad interpretation
of innovative family medicine programs to include innovative
residency programs, clerkships, services, curricula, or other
activities
that have had a significant, positive impact on family medicine
education.
The 2007 award will be
presented during STFM's Annual
Spring Conference in
Baltimore, MD, April 30 - May 4, 2008.
Nominations must be made by STFM members, although
candidates may be members or nonmembers; self-nomination is acceptable.
The Communications Committee will rate candidates
based on the
a) innovativeness of the program or activity,
b) sustained impact on home institution, and
c) regional/national impact on family medicine education.
Nominations Requirements :
- A nominator who is an STFM member (Self-nomination is acceptable.)
- A statement from the nominator citing the nominee's involvement
in the program or activity development, the program/activity's
impact on improving resident, student, or faculty education,
and the regional or national significance of the program/activity
- Up to an additional three letters of support from individuals
familiar with the program or activity, whether participants,
graduates, or supervisors
- Appropriate program materials
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee(s)
Nominators are asked to accumulate the items listed
in the form and forward them as a packet to the STFM office.
The
STFM Communications Committee will screen the nominations, and
the STFM Board of Directors will make the final selection. Eleven
copies of the information packet must be received in the STFM
