The Annual Spring Conference offers presentations focusing on best practices, new teaching technologies, emerging research, and public policy issues. The educational offerings are great but the space between the sessions is so powerful. This meeting is the most powerful networking forum for family medicine educators, with attendance of more than 1,000. Exchange ideas and discuss issues that you - and your colleagues - are wrestling with in your professional and personal roles. You will take away valuable solutions you can implement immediately at your institution/program.

Hello, fellow STFMers! I hope to see all of you in New Orleans for our Annual Spring Conference. New Orleans is a great place to visit anytime, but especially around the Jazz and Heritage Festival. We have decided to move away from themes for our meetings, and we invite you to submit your best work in family medicine educational innovation, program administration, and research.
However, in keeping with our areas of special emphasis for STFM in the upcoming year, we would especially encourage you to consider presenting in the following areas:
Submit today and I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans in 2011!
Perry Dickinson, MD, STFM President
University of Colorado, Denver
Submit your proposal today. Submission deadline is September 13, 2010.
Unlike any other North American city, New Orleans inspires and
intrigues. The birthplace of jazz, home to some of the greatest
restaurants (and service) in the world, an oasis of history and charm
on the Mississippi, New Orleans is all that and more.
Explore all New Orleans has to offer including the 10 things you must do in New Orleans!
Love Jazz Music? The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival opening weekend will be April 29-May 1, 2011. And our conference hotel is also Festival Headquarters. You'll be able to buy tickets and use the festival transportation provided. Jazz Fest is much more than one of the premier — and most beloved —
festivals in the world. It is a signature cultural event for its home
city, rivaling Mardi Gras as one of New Orleans' global calling cards.
Registration will open in mid December 2010.
The 2011 Conference Hotel is the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.
Located on historic Canal Street just steps from the French Quarter, the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel is a short walk from Bourbon Street, Jazz Fest activities, the Aquarium of the Americas, IMAX Theater, Riverwalk Marketplace and the assortment of renowned restaurants and live music clubs of the Vieux Carré.
Our Conference Hotel Room Block will open in December 2010.
