Group on Behavioral Science Listserv
The Group on Behavioral Science egroup is aimed at improving behavioral scientists' overall level of satisfaction and role development in family practice settings across the country through peer support, mentoring, curriculum development, and shared resources. STFM Group on Health Policy and Access
This is the listserve for the Group on Health Policy and Access. Health policy significantly impacts access to care, especially in the United States where over 44 million are uninsured, with a growing underinsured population, and access problems for many with insurance. This new group will identify health policy and access issues that are of greatest concern and interest to the family medicine academic community, represented by STFM. Our objectives include: 1. To develop curricula and teaching materials for medical students, residents and faculty, 2. identify areas of health policy research for family medicine researchers, 3. identify and suggest plenary speakers for STFM conferences 4. organize presentations, seminars, workshops, and theme days at STFM meetings, and 5. help guide the organization's voice in areas of public policy as STFM works collaboratively with other members of the family medicine community, other organizations of health professionals, consumers concerned with these issues, and policy makers, including representatives of federal, state and local government (including funders of both services and research). STFM Group on Hospital Medicine and Procedural Training
A significant percentage of family practice residency training is done in the hospital setting. Residents enjoy both procedures and inpatient medicine and many family physicians continue post residency working part time in a hospital while keeping up procedural skills. The goal of this group is to: facilitate discussion regarding the teaching and practice of hospital medicine; discuss the training and practice of procedures, both inpatient and outpatient; share curricular ideas regarding the teaching of procedures and hospital medicine; discuss ideas how to promote the utilization of family physicians in the hospital setting including the emergency department and critical care unit.

The STFM Group on Integrative Medicine was formed in 1993 with three goals-- first, to raise awareness of patient use of complementary ways of healing among medical students, residents and faculty; second, to encourage medical students, resident, and faculty education in integrative medicine; and finally, to develop educational resources in this area. STFM Group on Abortion Training and Access Listserve
This listserve is a restricted discussion group for family medicine educators dedicated to the discussion of implementation and provision of early abortion care within primary care. This listserve is for sharing clinical and practical information that will broaden our understanding about the delivery of abortion services. The primary goal of this listserve is education regarding this topic. Discussions can include medical and procedural concerns, counseling issues, administrative and security concerns, financial issues, staff acceptance, and public policy related to abortion and reproductive health care.

This on-line community is an ideal forum for sharing your experiences and strategies as well as voicing your concerns to an educated and involved group of family physicians, medical students, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and others working hard to expand women’s access to abortions, nationwide.
