2025 Annual Spring Conference Community Outreach Partners
The 2025 STFM Annual Spring Conference will be held in Salt Lake City, UT, from May 3–7. STFM is partnering with and promoting community outreach organizations in Salt Lake City and throughout Utah for people who are interested in supporting their missions.
International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) provides opportunities for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture, and other immigrants to thrive in America. Each year, thousands of people, forced to flee violence and persecution, are welcomed by the people of the United States into the safety and freedom of America. These individuals have survived against incredible odds.
The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors, and local volunteers to help them translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to their new communities. In Salt Lake City and other offices across the country, the IRC helps them to rebuild their lives. Since opening its doors in 1994, the IRC in Salt Lake City has resettled over 13000 refugees and provided life-changing services to thousands more in the Beehive State.

As part of our community outreach at the 2025 STFM Annual Spring Conference, we will be creating Caring Cards to brighten the lives of individuals in need throughout the Salt Lake Valley. These cards (or similarly sized) cards will be included in food boxes delivered to individuals who are unable to access emergency food pantries themselves.
We invite you to decorate the cards with positive images or uplifting messages. Please avoid any specific religious, political, or controversial themes. These cards are a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact and bring joy to those we serve in Utah.
The cards will be purchased by you and can be brought to the conference at your convenience. Your thoughtful contributions will truly make a difference!

Wasatch Community Gardens, founded in 1989, has long been dedicated to supporting its community through creative, meaningful programs, including discounted workshops and bilingual initiatives at Title I schools. In recent years, the organization recognized the need for greater equity and inclusivity in its work.
This led to the creation of the Advocacy & Justice Program in 2024, aimed at addressing systemic issues in the food system. Led by Afā ‘Aikona, the program focuses on listening to community voices and ensuring that inclusion, collaboration, joy, and stewardship remain central to the organization’s efforts in promoting food and social justice.
