Fellowships

Medical Student Educators Development Institute

Now Accepting Applications for 2025–2026!

Apply to be part of STFM's Medical Student Educators Development Institute (MSEDI). The 18-month fellowship offers training, tools, and support for faculty who educate medical students and is particularly suited to those who aspire to be clerkship directors or medical student education directors.

MSEDI Mission Statement: The MSEDI Fellowship program exists to provide fellows the opportunity to develop their skills in scholarship, leadership, and curriculum development within the field of undergraduate medical education.

"Did you just join your department and are already being asked to be the med student director?  Or, maybe you've been doing resident education for a couple of years, but your med student director position opened up and you're being asked to take over.  Never fear!  Medical student education can be a rich and rewarding experience.  Come and explore this amazing opportunity with faculty who are passionate about medical student education and want to see you thrive.  Come and share your highs and lows with colleagues who understand and can support you.  We look forward to seeing you in the next MSEDI class!"

- Dan Sepdham, MD, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Family and Community Medicine
