Deadline to Apply is July 2, 2025
June 18, 2025—STFM is now accepting applications for three open positions on the STFM Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) Task Force:
- A faculty member with experience in the transition from UME to GME
- A family medicine resident
- A medical student
Between August 2025 and July 2027, the task force will:
- Further develop the family medicine CBME mobile app assessment
- Update the STFM Individualized Learning Plan Template, based on results of the pilot project, with an eye toward bridging the gap between UME and GME
- Keep the STFM CBME Toolkit up to date
- Continue faculty development in the areas of clinical competency committees, resident portfolios, using AI to reduce administrative burden, and individualized learning plans
- Develop and implement longitudinal training on coaching
- Identify and disseminate strategies to engage residents and students in their individualized learning and assessment
The task force will have two in-person meetings (October 2025 and January 2026) and several virtual meetings. Travel expenses for task force meetings will be reimbursed by STFM. Task force members may have assignments between meetings and will be encouraged to contribute to the dissemination of the resources through presentations and publications.
To be considered for the task force, send your name, email address, job title, program/institution affiliation, and a one-page overview of skills and experience that make you a good candidate for the task force to Mary Theobald, mltheobald@stfm.org by July 2, 2025. Residents and students should include a letter from their leadership stating they will be given time to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
