Annals of Family Medicine
Annals of Family Medicine is an open access, peer-reviewed research journal serving the needs of scientists, practitioners, policy makers, and the patients and communities they serve. It is the top-ranked North American primary care research journal, and charges no fees for publication. The journal is a collaborative effort of six family medicine organizations, one of which is STFM, and has been in publication since 2003.
Family Medicine
Family Medicine is the official peer-reviewed journal of STFM. Family Medicine publishes original research, systematic reviews, narrative essays, and policy analyses relevant to the discipline of family medicine.
PRiMER
Peer-Reviewed Reports in Medical Education Research (PRiMER) is an online, peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing small, rigorously designed original research briefs in medical education and health workforce policy, as well as learner research. All articles published in PRiMER are indexed in PubMed.
Overview of CERA
CERA, the CAFM Educational Research Alliance, is a framework to focus and support medical education research. CERA's vision is excellent family medicine educational research.CERA conducts five surveys per year of:
- Family medicine residency directors (surveyed twice per year)
- Clerkship directors
- Department chairs
- General membership, including subsets of members as selected by applicants

STFM Messenger: The Members-Only Twice-Monthly Newsletter
STFM members are the first to know about calls for proposals, conference registration, open application periods, legislative updates, new curricula, member highlights, and more.
